After 12th century, Indian Ancient Classical Music Gradually, It Started In Its New Form,Due To Islamic Rules Of Delhi And Mughal Sultanate. In Modern Time Indian Classical Music Has Two Main Forms.
1)Hindustani Music (North India)
2)Carnatic Music (South India)
Hindustani Music – Also Know As Sastriya Sangit For Its Ancient Tradition . But Its Hindustani Form Origins In 12th Century CE. It Has 4 Major Form- Dhrupad, Khyal, Tarana And Thumri. Sufi Music AIso Started In That Period.
Carnatic Music – Also Known As Karnataka Sangitam. Purandara Dasa Of Vijaynagara Empire Who Was From Hampi And Hindu Composer And Musicologist Consided Pithamaha of Carnatic Music.
Indian Music is Unique Because it is Evolved Sophisticated and Melodies are Difined.
